Change Candidate vs. Experienced Candidate #1: Decide which candidate you would most likely support on the following issues below. #2: After you have chosen a candidate, you will get with your group that prefers the same candidate as you. #3: In your group, pick who will be the main spokesperson for you candidate. This person will have to be able to clearly defend your candidate’s positions on all of the issues. #4: As a group, choose a slogan for your campaign and talk about how you will promote your positions (ex: banners, stickers, etc) #5: Most importantly, do some research so you can better back up your arguments! For example, if I were arguing for the P.E. schedule to stay the same, I would say something like: “According to a health magazine, it is proven that having P.E. everyday in school has many positive benefits to your overall health. My opponent claims that we should only have P.E. 3 times a week, which would not promote good health among students.” #6: You will present your arguments Monday March 24th in a debate style class. I will ask candidates questions about certain issues, so be prepared to defend your arguments! Whichever group wins the debate will receive a free 100 on a quiz grade!! Be convincing!!!!!
